children of the forest

Fall Creek, Oregon, June 20, 2009
Squadron13 follows "Cascadia Summer" to a treesitting workshop at Fall Creek Oregon to bear witness to one of God's magnificent creations, an Oregon old growth forest, and the children trying to preserve it.
This irreplaceable and priceless forest, barely 30 minutes from Eugene Oregon is heading for the chopping block, unless we can stop it.

TAKE ACTION:
Call Ginnie Grilley, District Manager of the Eugene BLM (TODAY!) and ask her to cancel the Fall Creek Timber Sale! Call her today: (541) 683-6600
Send a letter (click on this link!) to Secretary of the Interior (boss of the BLM) Ken Salazar and President Obama to withdraw the W.O.P.R!

How can you find words to go with these pics?
Perhaps "grab these hi-res pics for your desktop" is all that's needed.

"children of the forest" - THE movie!!!

The song that accompanies this is literally as old as the trees in this video footage, roughly 300 to 350 years old.
It was written by Spanish composer Tomas Luis de Victoria (1548-1611) titled "Ascendens Christus in Altum". It is sung in Latin, but here are the words in English for those that are interested:

Christ goes up to heaven on high, alleluia,
He hath led captivity captive, alleluia.
He hath bestowed gifts upon all mankind, alleluia.
God goes up to heaven with rejoicing,
And the Lord with the sound of the trumpet, alleluia.
He hath bestowed gifts upon all mankind, alleluia.

Performed by triple choir of Saint Clement's Choir,
