Informations about the FOUR-STROKE CYCLE Animation

The site FOUR-STROKE CYCLE shall illustrate the four-stroke cycle of an engine. The phases of this cycle are displayed in the left window as animation for a simplified engine. The right window shows the corresponding P-V diagram. The value for current cycle time [%] and the current phase of the cycle of this engine are shown below the animation windows. The buttons of the buttonbar are used to control the animation.
In the left animation window , the temperature in the combustion chamber changes in dependence from the state the engine (is indicated by the change of the color: blue=cold, red=hot).
In the right window: TDC = TopDead Center; BDC = Bottom Dead Center; IT = ignition time

The buttonbar:

 
button meaning
It starts the animation with cycle time adjusted by Set T first.
This button stops the animation which was started by Start or Step.
It starts the animation which however only runs until the end of current phase of the cycle.
Reset the animation at the initial state.

The cycle time for the animation is entered via the input mask T [1..100%] and confirmed by the button Set T. 100% corresponds to the slowest animation and 1% to the fastest ones.
