Squadron13 joins Oct. 27 Peace March in Seattle

For the whole march, we were literally surrounded by as many as 10 police vehicles and kept far from the rear of the march. Made us feel like we weren't even a part of it.

Numerous time during the march, people who were having trouble keeping up begged us to allow them aboard our nearly empty bus. Our orders from the police gave us no choice but to pass them up. It crushed our hearts to be put in this position. In hindsight, we probably should have stopped anyway and filmed the Seattle police ejecting us from the march for our display of compassion. This would not have happened in Waldport, Eugene, Springfield, or Dupont. I won't mention what might have happened in Newport!

It was kind of strange to be in this huge march through Downtown Seattle and see so few people lining the streets. Later we found out why. Despite the organizers attempts to publicize this event prior to its occurrence, absolutely nothing was published. The media blacked out the event.

After the march was over, our bus made many trips back to the start with some tired but happy folks.
 
 

We spent Saturday night after the march in Carnation Washington where the next day we would have a meeting with regional war resistor support organizers.
This huge wooden building was a barn that was built in 1910. It was an amazing structure.
