"Get Real!" -the real count of American Servicemember casualties

This page was created in order to clarify the real number of American military personel who have been killed in this war so far. What is not commonly realized is that the actual number is higher than what most people believe since most counts of the Iraq War do not include the deaths that happened in Afhganistan. Why not? Good question, that is what I can't understand. Are those that died in Afganistan not good enough to be counted by the commonly quoted "death counts?" Judging by the very large percentage of well informed, and even already skeptical people such as the "Concerned Citizens" of Eugene who have frequently used those incorrect figures, one might think so.

Up until July 11, 2005, I relied on the count from Antiwar.com, which supplied some handy dandy html code that allowed me to have the current count automatically placed into any, and many of my pages for my web visitors to see. Only problem is, it's WRONG! Out it goes. Replaced by by my own manually generated system to reflect what I consider to be a much more accurate count of what this war is really costing us - all of the American military deaths in both Iraq and Afghanistan as provided at: http://www.antiwar.com/casualties/
from the start of the war in March 2003

A second source of casualty information can be found here:  http://icasualties.org/oif/
