On the 4th of January, we arrived at Fort Lewis Rally to support 1LT
Watada.
We were behind schedule due to our bus getting stuck in soft earth.
A tow truck pulled us out. We made it, just a little late.
At the rally, right next to the main gate and across the freeway from
Camp Resistance.
Event speakers Sara Swift and Ann Wright
Ann Wright is a former Colonel who resigned from her post in protest
of the Bush Administration,
sacrificing her career but preserving her dignity and honor. Hear that?
DIGNITY AND HONOR.
Some CodePink ladies showed up with a great sign design. They used
"deer netting" on PVC poles, and cut out letters from "Tyvex",
an extremely durable type of paper, painted the letters and attached
them to the deer netting with "Nylon ties".
This design is cheap, easy to make, durable, rain and wind proof.
Close up of letters fastened to deer netting.
Harvey Thorstad from Portland VFP Chapter 72.

The partly visible message on our roofline is "AMERICAN MADE BIODIESEL
gets zero soldiers per mile!"
Here is Camp Resistance! An amazing stroke of luck allowed us to camp
right outside the front gate of Fort Lewis with the permission
of the land owner. It couldn't be any better!!! It seems the city of
Tacoma got a rash of complaints since they sent out some inspectors
to check us out. They didn't see any problems and neither did we!!!
