In front of the Sacramento Capitol building.
Many Sacramento passers-by came to look at our bus.
Veterans For Peace members who sponsored our visit in Sacramento, saw
us off with a generous donation
of cash, food and good energy
A little problem developed the next morning as we broke down on the
freeway. We limped into a travel center
in Arizona and managed to fix it ourselves, though not easily. Video
above shows Gordon pondering
the situation, just before we decided to cancel the trip to D.C. due
to numerous difficulties and a cash shortage.
Just two hours after the announcement of our cancellation, some of
our angels in Eugene responded
with a commitment of an addition $1,000 for our trip, tipping the scales
back towards continuing our
Eastward journey into the red rock beauty of New Mexico.
Our previous schedule ruined by the day-long delay, Jack and Malcolm
work in steadfast pursuit
of our mission while in transit to repair our itinerary.
We encountered many supporters along the way, frequently making new
friends and contacts
at each stop.
A whole day late, the Albuquerque peace community still was able to
meet us and treat us to lunch.
Their office was very impressive with a well stocked library of videos...
...and books! They also made a generous contribution towards our trip
expenses and allowed us to
use their office and internet connections to facilitate this very page.
